Factory-finished in Dove Gray, the exterior was repainted its current shade of Old English White some time during previous ownership. Features include split chrome front and rear bumperettes, Lucas-style front fog lamps, and fender-mounted side mirrors. The seller reports that the passenger-side door does not sit flush with the bodywork and notes various rock chips along with paint cracks at the bottom of the trunk lid, on the passenger-side door, and the lower valence. The windshield washers are said to be inoperable.
SE models were equipped with 16″ chrome knock-off wire wheels which are wrapped in 185mm Firestone-branded tires on this example. Stopping power is provided by hydraulically-assisted four-wheel drums, and the seller reports that the brake fluid was flushed in 2019 and the front shocks were replaced in 2018.
The left-hand drive cabin is trimmed in brown leather with matching door panels and replacement carpets that were installed in 2012. Lap belts are fitted for both occupants, and additional features include a locking glovebox, a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and aftermarket sun visors. The heater core has reportedly been replaced, and the seller notes that the analog clock is inoperable.
A replacement smaller diameter four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a woodgrain dashboard housing a suite of Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows just over 25k miles, around 5k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown, and the dashboard turn signal indicator lamps are not functional. The removed steering wheel is included in the sale.
The 3.4L twin-cam inline-six was factory rated at 180 horsepower in SE trim, which added higher-lift camshafts and a lightened flywheel. PerTronix ignition was installed in 2012, and additional work that year included rebuilding the dual SU carburetors as well as the installation of an electric fan and carburetor insulator blocks. The batteries were replaced in 2018, and maintenance in 2020 included replacement of fuel pump and tank screen as well as an oil and filter change.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that an undercoating was applied to the chassis some time during previous ownership, and a Bell stainless-steel exhaust was added in 2013. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
Engine block stamping number W6543-8S is shown above and matches the number stamped on the cylinder head as well as the chassis plate seen below.
The chassis number features an “S” prefix, indicating an SE model.
