The bus was finished from the factory in two-tone Seeblau (360) and Cumulusweiss (680) and underwent a single-stage repaint in enamel following the installation of replacement A and B pillars, rear left corner, front dog legs, inner rockers, and rear cargo door and lower driver’s door skins. Painted 14” steel wheels feature chrome VW-branded hubcaps and are mounted with Vercelli tires. A full-size spare is found behind the front seats. Braking is through drums at all four corners.
The front of the cabin houses bucket seats that have been reupholstered in patterned gray fabric and vinyl. Lap belts are fitted for the front occupants, and black rubber mats cover the floors. A Blaupunkt push-button AM/FM radio is housed in the dash. The headliners and trim panels were replaced during the refurbishment.
A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color metal dashboard housing a replacement 1967-spec VDO 80-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer was reset to zero during the refurbishment and now shows approximately 200 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The rear of the cabin houses two rows of bench seats trimmed in matching gray vinyl and patterned fabric along with black rubber-lined floors.
The 1.5-liter flat-four is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment and is topped by a single carburetor. An oil change was performed in July 2022, and work in preparation for the sale included detailing the engine compartment, installing a Bosch distributor, and replacing the fuel line.
