Sheet metal work is said to have included replacement of the rear quarter panels, fenders, hood, trunk lid, and doors. Detroit Speed mini-tub rear wheel housings were installed along with new outer wheel housing panels. The drip rails, door handles, front bumper, and side turn signals were removed. The body was finished in black PPG paint with satin black vinyl racing stripes, and reportedly wears three layers of Gyeon ceramic coating. Clear protective film has also been applied to the front end and the surfaces behind the wheels.
The rear bumper and window trim were painted black, and new tinted glass was fitted all around. Second-generation Camaro bullet-style side mirrors were added, as were a black Ridetech fuel filler cap, Fesler LED taillights, and LED front turn signals. Remote door poppers facilitate entry as demonstrated on the driver’s door in the walk-around video above.
The 18” Forgeline GA3 wheels are finished in transparent smoke coating and wear Toyo Proxes R888 tires measuring 225/40 up front and 335/30 at rear. A Chris Alston Chassisworks g-Machine front subframe carries Street Machine A-arms, a ¾” sway bar, and a rack-and-pinion steering setup. Four-link rear suspension has also been added, and Ridetech adjustable coilovers are featured all around. Wilwood brakes utilize black calipers as well as slotted, cross-drilled, and ventilated rotors at all four corners.
The interior was customized by F&H Auto Upholstery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and features bolstered low-back front seats upholstered in black leather. Fesler door panels and the headliner are wrapped in leather and Alcantara, while carbon fiber panels from Anvil Auto accent the dash and door sills. A custom center console houses the vehicle management system as well as power window switches, an American Powertrain shifter, and a touch-screen stereo with Bluetooth and a USB port. The inner body panels were sprayed with LizardSkin and lined with Dynamat Xtreme sound deadener.
Controls include a Clayton Machine Works pedal assembly featuring drive-by-wire actuation in addition to a Driven steering wheel, which frames an AutoMeter tachometer and speedometer with a digital odometer showing 2,800 miles since installation. Both gauges feature green illumination and stencil-style lettering, as do those in the center dash monitoring oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. An air conditioning system from Vintage Air has also been added.
The shaved and tucked engine bay is home to a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 installed by Precision Designs in Denver, Colorado. The powerplant is fed by an intercooled Edelbrock E-Force supercharger and a Holley Dominator electronic fuel injection system. A Comp camshaft with .607/.621” of lift and 219°/235° duration at .050” of lift has been added along with aftermarket rockers, valve springs, and a serpentine belt pulley system.
A Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission routes power to the rear wheels through a custom driveshaft from Rocky Mountain Driveline and a Currie 9” limited-slip rear end with 4.11:1 gearing. A Chassisworks g-Connector chassis stiffening system has also been installed and new patch panels were added to the underbody toward the rear of the car and then seam welded. Maintenance since completion of the build has reportedly included annual fluid changes and biannual safety inspections. Cold start and driving videos are provided below.
