Rally-style 15″ wheels are wrapped in 225/70 General Altimax RT tires. The front suspension was rebuilt by Tony’s Corvette Shop of Gaithersburg, Maryland, in 2012, and the rear was rebuilt in 2014. The bushings, ball joints, universal joints, and braking components were replaced, Delco shocks were fitted at all four corners, and the following parts were refurbished:
A set of Kelsey-Hayes wheels wrapped in reproduction Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread branded-tires are included in the sale.
The bucket seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl, and the door panels, door sills, dash pad, and carpets are also said to have been replaced. Features include a push-button AM/FM radio, headrests, and a map pocket. The clock does not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 427ci L71 V8 is equipped with a trio of Holley two-barrel carburetors and a transistor ignition system, and it was factory-rated at 435 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. An August 2018 rebuild by Tony’s Corvette Shop included hot-tanking and Magnafluxing the engine block and boring it .060″ over. The water pump, starter, fuel pump, engine mounts, carburetors, hoses, and belts were also replaced. Maintenance in April 2021 is said to have included a rebuild of the carburetors and distributor, replacement of the spark plugs, and an oil change. Receipts for the engine work and photos of part numbers with seller-provided descriptions can be viewed in the gallery. The removed carburetors are included in the sale.
Stamping 19S716391 is shown above, and the last eight digits match the last eight digits of the car’s serial number. The LR suffix on the left corresponds with the L71 427ci engine for manual-transmission applications. Additional casting numbers are shown in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a close-ratio Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission and a 3.70:1 Positraction rear end. The driveshaft, rear differential, and half shafts were refurbished in 2013, and the flywheel and clutch assembly were reportedly replaced in 2018 during the engine rebuild.
