The car was finished from the factory in Light Ivory (670) and was reportedly repainted some time ago. Features include a body-color removable Pagoda hardtop, chrome trim, bumpers with overriders, and dual exhaust outlets. The soft top was removed under previous ownership.
Steel 14″ wheels wear polished covers with body-color centers and are mounted with 195/70 Michelin Defender tires with 2014 date codes. A matching spare is stored in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners. The steering system was overhauled in 2014 with a replacement center link, steering shock, tie rods, and idler arm bushings. Additional work that year included refreshing the front axle and replacing the wheel bearings, brake calipers, hoses, master cylinder, and brake fluid reservoir.
The interior was refreshed in 2003 with replacement brown squareweave carpets, along with color-coordinated vinyl seat covers and door panels. The hardtop headliner was also replaced at that time. Amenities include a Frigiking underdash air conditioning system, a Becker Europa push-button radio, custom speakers mounted on the rear shelf, and manual-crank windows. The driver’s side window crank has damaged trim.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears a chrome horn ring and fronts VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five digit odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer and tachometer were refurbished and the cables replaced in 2014.
The 2.8-liter M130 inline-six is equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection and Pertronix electronic ignition. Work completed by the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center between 2014 and 2015 included repairing the engine wiring and replacing the fuel tank, drain, and seals, as well as the fuel sending unit, fuel pump wiring, fuel tank mounts, and the throttle linkages, rod, and cross shaft.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
