Modifications performed under prior ownership included installing BMW 2002tii-style struts, wheel bearings, and brakes up front, while larger brakes from an E21 320i were fitted in the rear. The suspension is said to be equipped with Bilstein shocks and struts as well as Suspension Techniques sway bars and lowering springs.
The Recaro front bucket seats were trimmed in black cloth and houndstooth inserts under current ownership, and additional work included refinishing the gauge cluster surround in black, installing a leather-wrapped center console, and replacing the headliner, trunk liner, and square-weave carpets. Equipment includes a heater, a black-vinyl rear bench, a BMW-branded shift knob, and manual-crank windows. The seller notes that a DTechnik air conditioning evaporator was installed behind the center console.
The leather-wrapped Alpina steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a combination gauge. Additional VDO readouts for coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are located in the center console. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The retrofitted 2.7-liter M20 inline-six was installed under prior ownership and is said to be equipped with a 325i-sourced 885 cylinder head. The engine breathes through triple 40mm side-draft Weber carburetors and a tubular exhaust header. A strut bar spans the engine bay. A Perma-Tune ignition system, a 123Ignition electronic distributor, and replacement spark plug wires were added under current ownership. Service records presented in the gallery show that the car was dyno tuned in December 2021.
