Steel 16″ wheels are painted Chawton White and mounted with 235/85 General Grabber TR tires, with a full-size matching spare wheel and tire affixed to the rear tailgate. Services to the suspension in June 2021 include replacement of the panhard rod, pitman arm, steering damper, bushings, rear sway bar components, and ball joints as well as installation of heavy-duty springs and Bilstein shock absorbers. Brake work performed at the same time consisted of adjustment of the rear brakes and replacement of the front rotors, front pads, and front and rear hoses, and the hub seals and bearings were also replaced.
The interior features seating surfaces upholstered in brown leather with matching door panels, shift boots, and locking center console lid. Amenities include an Alcantara headliner, heated front seats, air conditioning, LED lighting, and a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo paired with four Alpine speakers.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges displaying battery voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 14k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
The 3.5-liter Rover V8 was reconditioned by Arkonik in 2015 and features electronic ignition and a four-barrel Weber carburetor, and power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. June 2021 services included replacement of the water pump, intake manifold gaskets, ignition components, power steering hoses, and coolant hoses. A compression test was performed at the same time, results of which can be seen in the gallery.
The rear muffler, exhaust manifolds, and downpipes were replaced in June 2021 along with the front universal joint and differential seals and gaskets. Corrosion is reported on the underside, an additional photo of which is provided in the gallery.
The Land Rover Certificate indicates that the truck is a left-hand-drive example that was produced on May 15, 1984 for the United Kingdom market. An Arkonik Certificate of Approval is provided below along with specifications.
