The suspension was refreshed with replacement bearings, bushings, springs, and Bilstein shocks, and the hardware has been zinc-plated. Silver-finished 15″ wheels are mounted with 205/55 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires.
The interior features bolstered seats with tan leather upholstery over matching carpeting, which is protected by patterned Coco mats. Amenities include air conditioning, a replacement factory cassette stereo, and an on-board computer. During the refresh, the seat padding was partially replaced, the wiring harness was repaired and re-wrapped, and parts of the weatherstripping were replaced.
An M-Tech 1 steering wheel sits ahead of M-branded VDO instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows just under 136k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the selling dealer over the past four years.
The 2.3-liter S14 inline-four was rated at 192 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque when new. Under current ownership the engine was partially disassembled and the timing chain guides, alternator, and drive belts were replaced.
Power is delivered to the wheels through a five-speed Getrag manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 4.25:1 final-drive ratio. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
Photos in the gallery show the car during its rotisserie restoration.
