The aluminum bodywork is finished in Formula Red (R-77) and features pop-up headlamps, side air intakes, a black fixed roof, and an integrated rear spoiler. Paint and body repairs took place following four separate incidents in the 1990s as detailed on invoices in the gallery below. The Carfax report lists “minor damage” in 2019 that the seller states occurred while the vehicle was parked, resulting in repair of the rear bumper cover in 2020. Wear on the right front bumper, scratches under the front lip spoiler, and other blemishes are photographed up close.
The video tour above includes a walk-around as well as views of the interior and engine compartment. Staggered-width wheels measure 15” in diameter up front and 16” out back. Continental ExtremeContact tires sized 205/50 and 225/50 were installed in 2019. Scuffs are pictured on several of the wheels.
The cockpit houses power-adjustable seats upholstered in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, carpets, and NSX-branded floor mats. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, and a factory Bose cassette stereo in addition to power windows and locks. The steering wheel’s leather cover was reglued and the driver’s seat was dyed in October 2019. The seller notes wear on the outer driver’s seat bolster.
Instrumentation includes a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 300-km/h speedometer, and a six-digit mechanical odometer showing 43k kilometers (~27k miles). The HVAC system was repaired by Acura of Los Gatos, California in October 2019, though the seller states that the fan does not work on its highest setting.
The mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and is shown running in the cold-start video above. An oil change and general inspection were performed by Los Gatos Acura in August 2020. The timing belt is believed to be original to the car.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle equipped with a limited-slip differential. A photo of the transaxle number J4A4-1001100 is shown in the gallery, indicating that the unit does not fall within the snap ring failure range. Additional photos of the underside can be seen in the gallery below, as can the California Bureau of Automotive Repair decal affixed to the firewall in the engine bay.
The sale includes service records from new, with several invoices shown in the gallery below.
