Silver-finished 17″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 275/60 Firestone Firehawk GTA tires that are dry-rotted and need to be replaced. The Lightning was factory fitted with Handling Package and a lower ride height compared with the standard F-series. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums with ABS.
The cab features seats trimmed in two-tone charcoal fabric with embroidered Lightning logos on the headrests. Appointments include power-adjustable lumbar and seat bolsters as well as air conditioning, cruise control, and a factory AM/FM/cassette stereo.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 11k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.8-liter Windsor V8 is equipped with cast-iron GT40 cylinder heads and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque. The fuel filter and serpentine belt were replaced in February 2022 and the brake fluid and power steering fluid were changed in October 2022. The paint is peeling on the top inner edge of the right-front fender.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 4.10:1 axle ratio. The truck is equipped with dual fuel tanks that can be selected by a cabin-mounted switch. Corrosion is visible on the underside components, additional photos of which can be viewed in the gallery.
The Ford Special Vehicle Team certificate lists this truck as #3,488 of 4,007 examples built and shows a production date of May 23, 1994. Manufacturer’s literature is also included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Texas. A mileage inconsistency is noted in October 2022.
