NAS Defenders feature aluminum bodywork as well as external/internal cages. This example is finished in Coniston Green with a white roof and is equipped with a front brush guard with driving lights, side steps, and a rear hitch receiver. The finish and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below; images 76 through 94 depict the truck after the paintwork was buffed, an area on the roof was touched up, the hinges were cleaned, stainless-steel hinge hardware was installed, and the wheel caps were replaced in December 2020. The seller notes remaining stone chips on the front bumper and wear on the side steps.
Silver-finished 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 265/75 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires. The black wheel-center caps were replaced with silver caps after the primary photo shoot, as noted above. Solid front and rear axles are accompanied by four-wheel disc brakes.
The interior features bolstered front seats with gray upholstery over matching carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, a Becker stereo in the console, a CD changer, aftermarket speakers, and an added map light.
A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows approximately 53,500 miles, about 2k of which have been added under current ownership.
The rear compartment is equipped with four side-facing jump seats that collapse to provide additional cargo space. A textured Defender-branded liner covers the carpeted floor.
The 4.0-liter V8 was rated for 182 horsepower and 233 lb-ft of torque when new. The truck was serviced in November 2020 by Land Rover Jaguar of Merriam in Kansas, and the battery was replaced.
Power is delivered to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Corrosion is noted on the underside, and additional photos are presented in the gallery below.
The seller states that some of the original owner’s records are stamped in the maintenance booklet, as are the seller’s. Service records from the second owner were also provided, and receipts shown in the gallery date back to 2002.
