The Z8 was designed by Henrik Fisker with styling cues from the 1950s 507 roadster and 1997 Z07 concept car. This example is finished in Schwarz 2 (668) and features xenon headlights, neon taillights, bright fender vents with BMW roundels, and elongated kidney grilles with integrated fog lamps. The black soft top stows beneath a tan boot and is pictured both raised and lowered in the gallery below.
The body-colored removable hardtop was fitted with a new tan headliner and seals in 2019. The sale also includes a fitted top cover, a branded sun shade, and a top storage stand as well as a snap-in wind deflector that fits between the twin roll hoops. Split-spoke 18″ wheels wear Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tires with 2001 date codes.
Heated and power-adjustable seats are trimmed in Black and Crema Nappa leather, with the latter color also worn on the leather-clad lower dash and center console. Black and aluminum accents are found throughout, and tan carpets are protected by matching floor mats. The factory stereo is concealed behind a door in the center stack, and a six-disc CD changer is mounted behind the passenger seat.
The banjo-spoke steering wheel features an airbag in its hub. The central instrument panel houses a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and an odometer showing 20k miles. Fewer than 150 miles have been driven since 2009.
The 4.9-liter S62 V8 was shared with the contemporary E39 M5 and produced 394 horsepower with 368 lb-ft of torque from the factory. A Getrag six-speed manual transmission directs power to the rear wheels.
The front suspension features aluminum components, and disc brakes with ventilated rotors are found at all four corners.
The sale includes a case of manuals and warranty paperwork, a tool kit, a BMW flip phone, and other accessories as pictured in the gallery. The car is also said to come with a BMW battery charger, though its original coffee table book has gone missing.
