Staggered-width 20″ Ronal wheels feature Alpina center caps and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires showing 2017 date codes and measuring 255/35 up front and 285/30 out back. The four-wheel disc brake system is equipped with Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), and the Alpina model received a softer suspension compared to the standard Z8. Flushes of the brake fluid and power-steering fluid were performed in August 2021 by BMW of West Houston in Katy, Texas.
The interior features black Nappa leather upholstery that extends from the power-adjustable seats to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Features include a remote-entry system, an electrically-adjustable steering column, air conditioning, and a stereo with navigation and a CD changer. A removable wind deflector will accompany the vehicle.
A plaque mounted between the seats indicates that this is chassis #091 of 555 in the series.
A three-spoke steering wheel with Switch-Tronic shift buttons sits ahead of an Alpina-branded gear indicator and centralized instrumentation that includes a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, auxiliary gauges, and a digital odometer that shows 20k miles.
The 4.8-liter M62 V8 was shared with contemporary B10 V8 S and was tuned by Alpina to produce 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Features include double VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies, a double-row timing chain, and hollow camshafts. Maintenance in August 2021 included changes of the oil and coolant, cleaning of the fuel injectors and throttle bodies, and replacement of the valve covers and upper timing cover gaskets.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed Switch-Tronic automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The rear differential fluid was changed in preparation for the sale. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below.
