Penned by Camil Pardo, the GT was styled as a tribute to Ford’s Le Mans winning GT40 race cars of the 1960s and features aluminum body panels mounted to an extruded aluminum space frame with roll-bonded floors. This example is one of 541 finished in Tungsten Grey Clearcoat Metallic, which was exclusive for the 2006 model year. Features include optional white stripes with Ford GT branding on both doors, and aerodynamic equipment includes a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and side splitters.
Factory-optional forged BBS alloy wheels measure 18” up front and 19” out back and are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires sized 235/45 and 315/40 respectively. Stopping power is provided by cross-drilled rotors paired with optional red-painted calipers at each corner.
The cabin is trimmed in Ebony leather and features Sparco-designed manually-adjustable seats with carbon fiber shells. A friction stir-welded central tunnel is topped by an aluminum center console, and amenities include air conditioning and a McIntosh CD stereo.
A black leather-wrapped steering wheel sits ahead of a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 220-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and supercharger boost pressure. The digital odometer shows just over 3,600 miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added by the selling dealer over the last 14 years.
The mid-mounted 5.4-liter V8 was factory rated at 550 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque and features a Lysholm screw-type supercharger, a dry-sump lubrication system, and an aluminum block, cylinder heads, and pistons. The rear wheels are driven via a six-speed manual transaxle and a helical limited-slip differential. The selling dealer notes that a 5k-mile service was performed in 2010 while more recent work included an oil change and replacement of the battery.
The window sticker shows optional equipment as well as a total MSRP of $166,945.
